Drug charges filed against 4 in Jersey County

Corporal Jason Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department holds a rock of crystal meth he found on a suspect. On Wednesday, two Missouri men pleaded guilty of trying to bring 100 pounds of meth into the St. Louis area.

JERSEYVILLE – Drug-related felony charges were recently filed by the Jersey County State's Attorney's Office.

Ashley N. Hillmann, 35, of Jerseyville, was charged May 30 with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony; unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony; and unlawful possession of hypodermic syringe or needle, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to court documents, on May 27 Hillmann allegedly had 15-100 grams of methamphetamine, mushrooms, and a hypodermic syringe.

Bail was set at $15,000.

Timothy D. Shewmake, 40, of Jerseyville, was charged May 30 with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to court documents, on May 27 Shewmake allegedly had 15-100 grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe.

Bail was set at $15,000.

Other drug-related charges filed recently include:

• Brandie J. Menzic, 28, of Jerseyville, was charged June 2 with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, and theft, a Class A misdemeanor. According to court documents, in April Menzie allegedly had less than 15 grams of hydrocodone and obtained unauthorized control over hydrocodone pills from another person. Bail was set at $15,000.

• Crystal L. Warren, 65, of Winchester, was charged May 30 with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor; and improper lane usage. According to court documents, on May 28 Warren allegedly had less than 15 grams of Alprazolam and a small metal pipe and crossed the centerline while driving. Bail was set at $10,000.
